Emily was one of the first bloggers I really connected with back in 2014. We’ve met a couple times in New York, Tampa and most recently Philly. What attracted me first to Emily’s blog is her amazing writing and ability to distill such relatable truths.

She’s someone who shares her thoughts in such a relatable valuable way without making everything a listicle or waiting until life has happened to wrap up some lessons in a bow.

This episode is all about life after college. The ups the downs and how to navigate between what you really want versus what the world is telling you you’re supposed to be doing.

On this Episode We Talk About:

x Why life transitions are hard

x When to tell your friends you have a blog

x The job hunt - why does it have to be so hard?!

x Identifying the “shoulds” in your life (and slowly getting rid of them)

x Why social media often adds to the “shoulds”

x Practical tips for practicing mindfulness and presence

x Why rest is totally underrated

x What it’s really like to live at home after college

x Emily’s running story

x Why hard times don’t last

x What happens when “healthy” becomes part of your identity

x Why sharing your story matters

x The pressure to turn your blog into a business

x Why blogging full time isn’t right for everyone

x The benefits of blogging as a hobby versus a business

x Why “following your passion” isn’t always good advice

This Episode is Perfect For:

x Recent grads

x Anyone balancing work and a passion project

x 20-somethings

x anyone in a major life transition

x bloggers

x runners

Today my guest Jess, the blogger and personal trainer behind Hello to Fit sheds some serious light on an issue everyone is dealing with: our careers. We're fed this narrative that we go to school, find a job and then become an expert over the next 30-40 years. Unless you end up practicing law or medicine, then that's hardly ever the case. Yet here we are, kind of silently, yet collectively freaking out about how we honestly have no idea what we're doing or if we're moving in the right direction or why we're questioning everything we thought we wanted.

But guess what?! You're not freaking alone. Jess shares how a super stressful year forced her to look inwards. And yup! you guess it, that's where the magic happens.

If you've ever felt:

  • burnout
  • like stress was slowly taking over your life
  • fear of the unknown
  • anxiety about changing your path
  • unsure of whether to be your own boss
  • like you wanted to quit all the things all at once right now

This episode is perfect for you
