You asked, I’m answering! On this episode, I’m answering/talking about the questions you asked for this Q&A episode. Because of the volume of questions, I’ll be splitting it up into 3 parts over the next two weeks. This first part I’m talking about wedding planning & personal growth.

Wedding

  • I love the idea of a small intimate wedding but have a huge family. How do you find the right balance of who to invite? Do you regret not having some people there?
  • I’m going to try on some wedding dresses soon and I can’t shake the idea that I might look “fat” in them
  • Would love to know your best tips for wedding planning?
  • I’d like to know how you kept it simple at your wedding. How did you prioritize all the details?
  • Is marriage what you expected?
  • Any new adjustments to living with your husband since you got married?

Harrison Wedding Films: https://www.harrisonweddingfilms.com/

Life/Personal Growth/Transitions

  • What’s the best way to overcome insecurity and limiting beliefs?
  • Practical ways to start practicing intuition?
  • What are your thoughts on having a life coach or should I just get in touch with my intuition?
  • How to find a best friend at 25?
  • Advice for someone starting medical school? (new city, new life)
  • Are there any books you’ve read that helped shape your outlook and mindset on life?
  • How do you maintain happiness during stressful/dreary times of year?
  • Where did you go to college and why? Best part about your college experience?
  • How do you practice manifestation in your daily routine?
  • Could you share tips for transitioning seasons. I feel like my habits are in a roller coaster sometimes and it’s hard to be consistent?
  • How do you approach a difficult conversation/confrontation without feeling guilty or worried?
  • I quit teaching in June and had the hardest time finding a new job. I was very stressed and unhappy teaching. I found a new job, but it isn’t turning out to be what I expected. I think I need to leave the position but that puts me back at square one. I have savings so I’m not totally floundering but how can I deal with this transition and not being so hard on myself?
  • When you were off your phone how did you occupy the time you would usually spend scrolling?
  • Favorite activities that don’t include social media/things related to your blog
  • Dating as an introvert!
  • What advice would you give someone trying to balance other people’s expectations?

About Suze:

Suze Yalof Schwartz is the founder and CEO of Unplug Meditation, the world's first drop-in secular meditation studio. She is also the author of Unplug: A Simple Guide To Meditation for Busy Skeptics and Modern Soul Seekers, and the creator of the Unplug Meditation App. In 2012, Suze learned a three-minute meditation that changed her life forever. Prior to this, she was a fashion editor and "makeover guru" working at Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and Glamour Magazine with regular appearances on GMA, The Today Show, CBS Early Show, and more. Once she discovered meditation, she was determined to keep doing it but she could not find a place to easily learn and practice. After taking hundreds of hours of classes, reading every book possible, and listening to podcasts and lectures from the world's most famous meditation teachers, Suze realized that meditation needed a makeover and she was the one to do it. Suze's mission is to make meditation simple, accessible, powerful and interesting enough so that everyone will want to practice it and experience the benefits for themselves.

On this episode, I’m sharing what I learned from taking a break from social media and stepping back.

I’m diving into 5 main topics:

  • How to Spot (and Prevent) Burnout
  • What I Learned from Slowing Down & Taking a Break
  • How to Deal with Uncertainty (and why it’s not always a bad thing)
  • Making Big Decisions
  • What I’m Hoping to do With This Podcast

One of my favorite quotes about decision making I mentioned in the show:

I love this quote from Deepak Chopra:

“If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another.

The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.

If this sounds too mystical, refer again to the body. Every significant vital sign- body temperature, heart rate, oxygen consumption, hormone level, brain activity, and so on- alters the moment you decide to do anything… decisions are signals telling your body, mind, and environment to move in a certain direction.”

Ep. 71 - Finding Purpose in Your Career, Letting Go of Limiting Beliefs, Forgiving Yourself & More - Q&A part 2

Today’s episode is part 2 of last week’s Q&A.

Questions include:

  • what are your favorite podcasts as of late?
  • I’d love to know your favorite houseplants - how do choose them, which ones bring you the most joy and how do you maintain so many?
  • Any advice for sleeping?
  • I’d love to hear your thoughts on finding definition your passion and purpose in life. I’ve been struggling with finding a goal to putty energy towards lately that will help me find a meaningful career. I just want to help people and make the world a better placebo but none of my actions (or the jobs) seem like they will be enough to save the problem. Also, how can you identify what your special skills are that will help the most?
  • Loved your episode on manifestation - one of the things I’m wondering is how you eliminate the limiting beliefs that can stand in the way?
  • Can you talk about how to forgive yourself for something along the lines of going through that process?
  • How did you know starting a podcast was the next thing for you?
  • What are you looking forward to most about your wedding?
  • How did you start with your photography? I don’t know exactly where to start learning?
  • How did you turn our blog into a full-time income?
  • How do you stay true to your own endeavors when others are critical, tease or tell you what you should do?
  • What are your favorite self-care practices of late?
  • When deciding your current career isn't for you, how did you go to finding a new career and how do you make peace in that stressful time?
  • What do you do when you feel overwhelmed by all your goals and dreams, to the point where you have no idea where to begin or even if it’s all possible. And on a related note, how do you deal with the fear that you will achieve none of the things you always saw yourself doing?
  • What advice do you have for someone who is triggered by looking at old photographs? I have gained weight in the last year, and find old photographs of myself to send me down the rabbit hole of negative/obsessive thoughts.
  • How do you find the power to say screw it to what everybody else thinks?
  • How do you make friends when you are in your late 20s and don’t go out often?
  • How do you manage to eat intuitively while also following specific guidelines for an illness?

[Q&A] Taking the Leap into Solopreneurship, Not Letting Labels Define You, Letting Go Of Other People’s Judgements & More

Today is part 1 of a 2 part Q&A. I received so many wonderful questions that I wanted to break things up and have enough time for all amazing topics you brought up.

Questions Asked:

  • Can you talk about your experience of going with your intuitions guidance and being rally sacred or sick to your stomach? And what the outcome was? Did you question yourself or push back on it? I’m really interested in following my intuition but recently it’s been giving me guidance that freaks me out a little

  • I would love to hear your thoughts on soulmates and finding your person. Do you think lawn fo attraction played a role in you meeting Chris? did you want to find someone while you were in college? what do you think people mean when they say “you’ll find someone when you are least expecting it?

  • I would love to know how you changed your mindset around food and exercise It’s easy to know what to do it’s the how that  is challenging and scary

  • What is the number one thing you do to manage work/life balance? You seem to have a great routine and mindset

  • How do you throw the fear and anxiety of how others may perceive you as you grow and change on your journey to joy and happiness?

  • What is your opinion on macro counting to help understand portion sizes for people who struggle with binging?

  • I would love to hear more about you transition into soloprenuership. What advice would you give to someone really wearing to take that step but feeling nervous about financial security and the level of hustle necessary to get a freelance business off the ground?

  • Do you have any tips on how to stop labeling foods as bad or unacceptable and learn to not feel guilty after eating these foods.

  • What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

  • How can we support our partners when they are going through a really difficult time, one they feel like no one can understand? Particularly if they are on a healing journey to process traumatic events from their past

  • How do you deal with the emotional guilt that can come when you want to slow down because you are feeling burned out?

  • I would love to hear your thoughts on combatting the society pressures for perfection associated with wedding planning

  • How do you not label yourself with the label is actually at true description? my main example is that I eat vegan, but I don’t ilk the stereotype and assumptions that go along with that label. I don’t like that people treat me differently for that label, because I am not just a vegan I simply eat plants and not other foods.

[Solo] My Manifestation Practice, Law of Attraction & Following Intuition

Today’s episode is me, myself and I talking about my experience with manifestation, the law of attraction and intuition.

I’m obsessed with this topic and it’s something that deeply fascinates me. I’m excited to chat informally about my experience and share tools with you that have helped me.

I recommend you listen with a dose of healthy curiosity even if this topic isn’t something you know a lot about or really excites you. For me it took years to really sink in so I totally feel you if it’s a little weird at first.

On this episode I talk about:

  • My relationship with my intuition as a kid

The Power of Mindset in Healing, Privilege in Wellness & Getting Into Alignment with Meg Dixon & Victoria Myers

On today’s podcast I’m talking with Meg Dixon & Victoria Myers, co-owners of Nourishing Minds Nutrition and the Nourishing Women Podcast. They’re experts in helping women heal gut and hormonal issues with a history of orthorexia. I love these women so much and had the pleasure of recording this episode with them in person when I was in Florida last month.

Today’s episode is a magical hybrid of a Q&A, interview and roundtable. We have discussions on 5 main topics that are all very top of mind for each of us. Think of this as a wellness without obsession podcast buffet! Because this is a slightly new format I’d love to hear what you think. Leave a review on iTunes or message me on instagram.

Roundtable Topics:

1.) The Power of Mindset in Healing

2.) The Grey Area of Consuming Content

3.) Wellness Privilege

4.) Thin Body Privilege
